Do you think they offered the part of Collins to Lesley Ann Downe?

I wonder, I'm sure Krige is good in the part, but Downe looks a lot more like Collins.

Krige is a great Joan Collins, but I'm not sure about her accent. It sounds off or forced, but she would have been a great Alexis ('I put the "nasty," into "Dynasty!"' Ha!) The "Linda Evans," is great, too.
This thing is so-so. I haven't seen every Dynasty, but it is entertaining. I like these historical things like "Return to the Batcave," and "Charlie's Angels."

As for Lesley Ann Downe, she's always been a fave of mine, but I think she's too nice for this. Maybe with a wig as Crystal. I'll go check her page and see what she's up to.

Having worked on a daily basis with Joan and Linda on their acting scenes (I was the "on set company acting coach") I can tell you that Ms Krige might have gotten most of the Alexis (Joan) movement/body language, but her vocal inflection was slightly off too many times for my liking- and Joan NEVER- NEVER called the show DIE-NASTY so her line "I put the Nasty into Dynasty" is incorrect. She always called it DIN-NISTY, and never believed that her character was "nasty" or 'campy"- when I told her that her fans loved her for being nasty and campy, she balked saying "I hate that! I'm not camp, and my character is not evil or nasty, she's a strong woman!" True story- unlike the movie I watched last night.

I think Lesley could be rather Joan like. She is english and would have been more like Joan, in looks certainly. she is also semi posh, and rather classy. Alice looks like she's been in a fire or somethin.

But I totally agree, Joan is the only one who can play Alexis.

P.s Joan may not have said Die-nasty at the time, but she does now. She's become much more american sounding over the last 20 years. Being English myself I can't help but notice.
