OMG - grad students
As a former grad student, and having watched the trailer, I can testify that this seems to depict the typical grad student experience.
Having said that, are there any other movies depicting the graduate student experience?
Don't know what your major was but it's very rare does Hollywood ever concentrate on anything topically scholastic like in 'Dark Matter' unless you count 'Good Will Hunting'(1997) with Mathematics being used in the plot. There's been some enlightening in-depth takes on Med & Law school. Any other grad subjects are few & far between. Off the top of my head (outta 5 stars):
Gross Anatomy (1989) - Med rotations ***
Vital Signs (1990) - Med rotations ***
Legally Blonde (2001) - er' Law ***
With Honors (1994) - Law **.5 & of course
The Paper Chase (1973) - the granddaddy of all Law-school flicks *****
Of course there's much more out there about the undergrad experience (not counting Animal House) with the good ones usually outlining a plot/character arch from frosh to diploma.
