Why do people think this is Snyder's best movie?

A good movie, nothing special.

The other Snyder movies are all better than this.

It is his most focused movie with the most unified tone and pacing.

His other movies are all over the place in terms of aesthetics, tone, pacing, acting styles.

300 is the most "in control" he has been so to say. So his work pops. I think its his best work by far too.

Dawn of the Dead is great too, it is one of the best Zombie films of the new millennium and it has a great pulse and pace to it.

Sucker Punch works well as a pure audio/visual feast, a sort of feature length music video. I always suggest watching the theatrical cut though...the shorter that film is, the better it works. The extended cut is poorly paced and too bloated considering the style of film it is.

To be honest, I just think Snyder works better on 'leaner' films...I tend to enjoy his work that is 'under 2 hours' significantly more than his 'huge' films which run for 2.5-3 hours. His style of filmmaker works best in shorter doses.

When he has too much to work with his films just lose focus and a sense of proper pacing.

Strongly disagree about Sucker Punch. The Directors Cut includes critical parts to the story that makes it great. With those parts trimmed out the movie loses its entire meaning. Though, yes, it becomes shorter. But at a big cost. I would never watch the Theatrical version for that very reason.

Kick ass movie, it is. Probably takes viewing over two nights though, so it doesn't beat a person down.

This is his best movie. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a fool who doesn't know what they're talking about.
