fassbender?

i just watched 300, second time i think i've seen it, and i didn't even notice him. was surprised when i saw him on the imb credits

any memorable or specific scenes he's in that anyone can think about?

edit: ok so i just checked out google images. wow completely didn't recognize him, and actually for most of the scenes i was thinking it was gannicus from spartacus! (hence reason i was looking at imdb credits) though to be fair, i was watching on a crappy tv

reply

He told King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) that it was an honor to die by his side near the end of the film. Leonidas responded by saying it was an honor to have lived by his. You remember that part right?

reply

as magneto he could ´´rape´´ the persian army alone ....lol

reply

Wow, I completely didn't realize that was Fassbender. I too was like "Is that... no... that's not Gannicus, is it? No... wait..."

reply

Same here, seen this movie a dozen times or so. And I had to take a second and think if that was him, I won a dollar off my gf betting it was him.imdb for the win.

reply

Same here. I didn't realize until recently that Fassebender was in this.

reply

Fassbender delivers the line "Then we will fight in the shade" in response to the persian's taunt that their arrows will "block out the sun." It's a great scene

reply

I had no idea Fassbender was in this movie until my recent re-watch. I'm kind of surprised to see him here, but he plays the part so well. Other than Leonidas, Fassbender's Leonidas has some of the coolest scenes in the movie out of the Spartans.

reply

I didn't know who Fassbender was when this movie came out. So bizarre.

reply

Sorry to correct you after 6 years but I checked the actual quote and the persian said "our arrows will blot out the sun!".

reply

Actually i remember him for that specific role.IN 2011 when x-men the first class came out in the cinemas i heard that he plays magneto and i said:"that's intersting".Finally in 2013 when, 12 years a slave praised from the critics and get an oscar nomination for his role,i was really happy ,he became one the greatest actors in his generation i mean his acting skills are far better than Butlers' or David Wenhams'.That guy is chammeleon. How you can recognise him?

reply

I remember Michael Fassbender from the movie mainly because I kept thinking "would somebody PLEASE give Michael Fassbender a Xanax?"

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

reply

I'd watched it and not recognised him then yesterday I thought "looks like a younger Fassbender" and sure enough it was him.

reply

This was the first movie most audiences were introduced to Fassbender as it was his role in a major film production. He was fairly unknown at the time & he was a supporting character rather than the star, so it's easy to forget he was in this despite being arguably the second most prominently featured character in the big fight scenes. Also, he was outfitted with a long dark, wavy haired wig & a heavy spray tan which contrasts significantly from his clean cut, mildly ginger looks that most audiences have become familiar with.

reply

Actually he looks pale.

reply

Well paleness generally goes with being a natural ginger like Fassbender. In 300 as I said however, he had a spray tan & a long, dark haired wig. Also the movie was filtered in a way that made everyone appear tanner/darker than normal
