A Masterpiece
This is a perfect movie imo. Better than most of Allen's other nonsense.

It's my favourite of his films, but I'm a huge Woody Allen fan, so I like all of his other "nonsense".

shareWoody has made a lot of good movies throughout the years. This one is great, but then so is "Crimes and Misdemeanors" ... and lots of other movies that do not fit his stereotypical style, like "Interiors", "Husbands and Wives", "Cassandra's Dream", "Blue Jasmine". No one can bat 1000 and he has made a few disappointments, but all in all a spectacular body of work.
shareYeah, i prefer the ones that are less Woody Alleny... I don't like it when every character sounds like a version of Woody Allen, saying Woody Alleny things to other Woody Allen types, etc...
Cassandra's Dream was nice... I haven't seen Blue Jasmine yet, but it's on my list...
Blue Jasmine was good. UP there with this one.
shareYeah a superb movie but I find a lot of Allen's work to be brilliant.
I've come to realize I have a real taste for these romance, affairs & relationship dramas. It sort of dawned on me back in March when I watched Closer (2004) and Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008). I adored both movies and have just this month decided to check out some 'chick flick' type work. Atonement (2007) and Pride & Prejudice (2005), two brilliant movies by Joe Wright, started me of and here I am now working through Woody Allen's filmography.
Horror has always been my favorite genre but these romantic dramas are maybe my second favorite now.
