What the F?

Boy, this movie sucks. Wow. Even after I started skipping through this piece of sith, it was hard to take.

The story is stolen from various places, starting right off with plagiarizing Conan the Barbarian. I haven't read the book(s?), but from what I could gather, the movie is supposed to be based on the print work and not part of some combined work of art, like Southland Tales. Still I got the feeling that huge chunks of the story where missing from the movie. This lead to dialog gems like this:

"Please help me find the other warrior!"
"That won't be necessary. Love rules the world."

err... what?

The acting fit right in there, being bad as hell.

Browsing through the comments and the forums, I could see that mainly people from countries close to russia defend this suckfest. One argument I read multiple times was, that this movie is supposedly better than anything Hollywood produces. At this point you probably won't be surprised when I disagree. Hollywood actually knows how to entertain. When many movies follow a specific formula, that has a reason. Just because a movie doesn't follow a well-established formular it's not automatically good. Sorry, fanboys.

And now bring it on. I don't care.

You don't like it. Ok. I do like it. I don't think it's any worse than all those fantasy movies Hollywood has been churning out lately (not counting "Lord of the Rings" and maybe "Harry Potter"). I think it's a shame it wasn't shown in cinemas regularly over here in Germany. It was really refeshing to have something that was different from US fantasy movies both in design and regarding to the names. A welcome change from the same old crap you're used to seeing.

This movie isn't better than anything Hollywood produces but it's certainly different. And I recommend to everyone who's as tired of Hollywood stuff as I am to take a look at it.

As for this questions about the dialogue:

"Please help me find the other warrior!"
"That won't be necessary. Love rules the world."

He is after to kill for revenge etc.He asks her to answer where the other warrior is (the one with the tattoo on his hand). She does not want to answer because she wants him to stop killing and answers that love is the answer to life, not to kill.

"I'd like to keep Spike as my pet"- Illyria, Angel S. 5

6 years later than the OP and other than The Hobbit movies what decent fantasy movies has Hollywood made? In terms of sword and sorcery style fantasy movies, LOTR, arguably The Hobbit Trilogy and the first Conan movie do I consider better movies than Wolfhound. I'm not even sure Conan or The Hobbit are superior.

What I do like about Wolfhound is that there isn't too much exposition slowing it down. It pretty much tells most of the story visually compared to other films in the same genre.
