the shining (1980)

i think RGV should type Stephen King name on the credits for his novel

reply

I have to agree with alot of concepts from The Shining but you know they are gonna change it a little to make it look different but at least Bollywood is trying to make horror films. I think Ram Gopal Verma is the person who can do a good enough horror film but is more like an thriller than an horror.......at least there's no songs in it otherwise it would be an horror comedy :p

Mother f**ker! Are you out of your damn mind? : Blade (1998)

reply

mixture of a few holly horror movies.

one other word: ju-on. i noticed the shining references first, but the scares are ripped directly from the japanese film, right down to the hand in the girl's hair.

The amity ville horror I think. Scene by scene copy. But im confused abt the release dates of the 2 films

reply

in what way does this film have anything to do with the amityville horror? answer: it doesn't.

the amityville horror was released in the late seventies, so the dates don't matter.

reply

hmm the premises are essentially similar, also the scare tactics in the new amityville horror are quite similar to vastu shastra (jump cuts)

reply

you are an idiot to imply that this has anything to do with the new amityville horror which came out in 2005. I even remember watching this movie in 2004. If anything the new amityville horror has copied those aspects you mentioned from this movie. There are plenty creative directors in bollywood that have good filmmaking styles which are later adopted by western filmmakers. Example the technique used in Kaante, even though that movie is a remake of reservoir dogs, it used something new in films, a filter. Kaante (2002) has yellow dawnish filter, hollywood later used that concept for making Sin City (2005) with a red filter.

reply

you are a super idiot...

1. sin city didn't use a red filter. It was a movie that was created using green screen effects in even the most mundane of scenarios to give it a comic book quality.

2. The Matrix (1997) used green filters for the Matrix world and blue filters for the Real world scenes. Filters have been used in Hollywood since the technicolor era.

You can't seriously expect a plagiarist like Sanjay Gupta to do something innovative, even if its technical.

And you are a super blockbuster size moron to suggest Amityville horror copied from Vaastu shastra. it was a remake of an older movie.

Whose talking about sanjay gupta...*beep* bag....we are talking about this movie which wasn't made by sanjay gupta....it is lifted off ram gopal verma's previous telugu movie deyyam(1996)....so shut your damn mouth....you don't know what the *beep* you talking about...why would I watch sanjay gupta when there is ram gopal verma...u idiot...

reply

Ok,

You said Kaante used the filter effect not used in Hollywood earlier. You proved then and there itself that you were not to be argued with, its stupid to do so. Its like banging your head against a wall.

Kaante was directed by Sanjay Gupta.

Sanjay Gupta copied it.

He didn't copy it from deyyam, or peyyam or any other stupid cheap s hit Telugu movie. he copied it from Reservoir dogs. But you already know that. What are you trying to imply here?

Also Ram Gopal Verma is a stupid jerk with no originality except camera work and other technical stuff. He knows zilch about the art of film making. Stop defending him. Stop degrading yourself. Notice I didn't call you an idiot once in this post? Know why I did it? To prove you can be an idiot by pure implication. S hit bag.

reply

RGV's involvement with this film was strictly financial AFAIK. He didn't write or direct it, but Varma Corp. co-produced/released it. I can see some similarity to The Shining I guess, but I wouldn't have made that connection if you hadn't mentioned it. Besides that, The Shining -- quite frankly -- stank on ice and Vaastu Shastra didn't.

reply

the shining does not 'stink on ice'. i'd hate to see what you think is a good film.
