Is Seagal 'black'?

I'm not being racist and I presume Seagal is of a Native American origin but he says to Vinnie Jones character at one point:

"Get your white ass outta here!"

Though it doesn't beat

"Theres some sick s**t up in here, Alligator"

The accent he sports is supposedly cajun. I think he claims to have roots in New Orleans.

reply

^^^^^^ wtf does having roots in new orleans have to do with anything about being black?

If you want to get the skinny on SeagAl, read the article that was run in SPY magazine a few years go and is reprinted here:

He actually talks like that nowadays. I saw his blues band (the awesomely named Thunderbox) in concert last month & he tells these amazingly pointless stories inbetween songs in this ludicrous accent. I think it's to give him an air of blues authenticity. It's 100% comedy gold.

Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting.

He speaks in his normal voice whenever he was interviewed over here in the UK.You know, I believe he's just "joshing", fooling around, if indeed he speaks the way you say he does. The guy is just having lots of fun. I don't believe he's seriously trying to be something he's not. I really don't believe he's that kind of person

When he first become big - before his fall into B-movies, he honestly claimed to have been an ex-CIA agent. He actually claimed that the beginning of "Above the Law" was a slight dramatic license of his biography. According to what he HEAVILY implied (though everyone talked to claims he's full of crap) - he was recruited because he could speak Japanese and had survival skills.

Excuse me, where did you come by all this information? I need to know. You see I've read absolutely everything I can find about Steven, and there has never been any mention of him implying anything of the kind. In fact, it's well known that trying to get this man to say more than a few words, especially about himself, in any interview, is like pulling teeth. People have been speculating about this thing about the CIA for ages, but I've never seen any interview where Steven "implied" that he was recruited. You must tell me where I can access this information.

I cannot answer the original question , but with regards giving interviews
actually I have seen him interviewed on a number of occasions in the Japanese language on TV, and his command of it is quite passable, possibly more so than his English...

Is he black?

Why not?

He's already pretended to be Italian and American Indian,so time for him to pretend to be something else. Apparently his stereotypical "black" speak doesn't go over too well with actual black folks. DMX has said some hilarious stuff about what a dick Seagal is and how he talks in an offensive "step n' fetchit" type voice and vernacular.

He says the same thing in the glimmer man. His Dad is Jewish and his mum is Irish, so no, he's not black. He's white.
