Sherilyn Fenn

I saw this on TV. No big stars, just a cop drama with some B-actors (Larry Drake, Caspar Van Dien) whose faces will have you scratching your head and saying, "Where have I seen him before?".

What drew me in was the performance of the woman playing the mother/cop. Sort of odd (and refreshing) that they didn't cast some young hottie in the role. The actress was frumpy, over-weight, had a bad hair-do. I kept thinking she looked familiar, so I had to search for the movie on IMDB. I was shocked to discover the actress was Sherilyn Fenn, the coy little sexpot who played Audrey Horn on "Twin Peaks" in the early 90's. Man has she changed.

I liked the fact that the movie portrayed a working mom who was a cop - that was kind of interesting - and Fenn gives a good performance in a pretty silly "cops-gone-bad" script. Obviously Fenn has aged a bit since her days on "Twin Peaks" (she was about 40 when she made this movie), but I wonder if she delibertely put on a few pounds for this role?
