Chechnia cut?


I didn't like the movie very much & I actually think it was just made for the purpose of money laundering, thus I don't await any hidden sense of this bunch of random scenes. In the movie, the guy returns from Afghanistan, but it's clearly not retro(it were certainly not late 80s in USSR, but today's Russia). So, do you think that the original script was going to be about chechnya, but that that it was finally cut for not to mess with Russian government/public opinion?

What the hell are you talking about? The guy returned from Chechnya, and no, it wasn't cut, it's how the director preferred to put it. Todorovskiy's films have their own style and it's not at all like him to concentrate on war as such.
