The Afterlife

I kinda felt sorry for Christine when she got into Richard's car and he told her to get out. She just had this look on her face like "Why are you being such a sh!t to me when all I'm trying to do is reach out to you."

Couldn't Richard see that she obviously liked him?

I don't think that Richard was happy about what transpired in the car either, we have to remember that he has a lot on his mind with the separation, and his relationship with his kids and all. Christine just kinda got caught in his little storm. I don't think either one of them really knew how to handle their situations gracefully. I mean sometimes (a lot of time) you gotta just let things work themselves out.

Was Christine being aggressive? I'm not sure weather to say she was being aggressive or just forward in a kinda socially clumsy way. One good question!

If it seems that a person who you're romantically interested in has isolated their-self, do you think it's a good idea to try and make a connection (risk), or do we just regard that person as someone who simply isn't available and move on?

Yes, I wondered why she kept going after him. But maybe that's real life. I guess if you're smitten you do everything you can until you're told "no." The fact that she waited for Richard's call indicates she was willing to be a bit demure at last.

I was also concerned about the incident with the wife in the store to which Elashes refers. But then I remembered that Richard burned his hand. That seems pretty psycho. Ultimately, it seemed that Richard and Christine were made for each other.

That scene was so uncomfortable. Hadn't he just asked if he could walk her to her car? She said no, but then by flagging him down she indicated that she'd changed her mind (because "walk you to your car" was just "let's keep talking a little longer") and he acted like a complete ass!

Of course, she made up for any pity I felt for her by acting like a complete psycho with his wife and the talking picture frame at the mall, so it was okay.

Right on, yeah she was a little creepy with his ex-wife. I think maybe she was coming on too strong. Like when he says "why are you in my car? you don't know me, I could be a killer of children", I mean he made a good point but still he didnt have to hurt her feelings

Don't talk like that about pigs they're usually much nicer than people

reply

Yeah, he was too mean in the car. I felt a little like I would cry and definitely felt embarrassed for her.

I did too. She was being a bit too aggressive, but there was no reason for him to be such a dick about it. He could of just given her a ride to her care. No skin off his nose. Of course that was just another wtf moment in a film filled with them. (See my post above.)
