Lefties, left-handedness, etc.

I've just finished watching this movie and, being a left-handed person myself, I just ROTFL with David's
line(s) to Dennis about Dennis' left-handedness -

"C'mon you're a leftie, you're weird! You're eccentric! Nobody understands you! YOU don't even understand yourself!"

CLASSIC right-handed person's assessment of lefties in general, and of any lefties he may know in particular.

BWA-hahahaha! Great lines!

My father was a leftie, not what I would call weird, but yes, a bit eccentric. Despite that, I've never met a more together person.

Check out a fascinating book (very readable and well-written) about lefties entitled The Left-Hander Syndrome by Stanley Coren.

I, too, am a lefty. As was my mother. It was she who taught me to write with my hand under the writing. This at a time when schools were teaching us to hook the hand over the writing so that we ended up smearing the pencil — later, the ink — with the heel of the hand.

I can now do most things (almost) equally well with either hand, but I still eat and write left handed. That being the case, I don't call myself ambidextrous; I call myself ambisinister.
