How refreshing to see a character urged to "be yourself"! That's so original. Typically movies these days are all about how you should fit in with crowd and be just like everyone else.
Too bad the movie got Martians all wrong. They don't act like that.

When everyone else is saying, "CONFORM OR ELSE!" — and
when everyone else is making fun of any kid who is only a little bit different —
here's a kid who seems very different — and
here's a Dad who says, "Figure out who you are and be yourself!"
Very refreshing indeed.
What did the kid know about how Martians act? Remember he came to Earth at a very early age, he wasn't raised in the Martian Way.

That is a treasure of this movie "be your self " i see a lot of people in my life and no one live his life everyone change himself in a way to fit with the people so everyone is missing to live his live and he live the life of other people .
