What a disaster this was

I just saw Kaal ... first day second show ... and im so sad i did

The movie starts off with some jungle creatures and the director doing god knows what and you kinda get the idea how bad this movie will be. The first ugly thing you notice is the cinematography which was terrible. I mean horrible, horrendous.

I knew the twist at the end before i went into the theater (thanks to the sms) which was not true but boy that would have been a lot better than the miserable and foolish twist which comes in the end. All of my friends guessed it mid way ... seriously ALL of my friends knew how this will end. And yes ALL of them hated the movie and even the crowd in the theater was laughing and seemed totally uninterested.

Director Soham doesnt know a thing about direction but can make a good screenwriter though this movie's screenplay was flawed to death.Real bad dialogues like ''Cut the crap''.

In short: it was a movie trying to hard to be a thriller and it failed. Failed with a capital F. Some thirs rate comic lines and the acting. Oh golly, the miserable acting.

VIVEK OBEROI IS THE MOST PATHETIC THING TO HAVE HIT THE SCREEN EVER.

There was a scene in which he had to act you know and it was so comical. He looked like a cross eyed stupid f u c* k.

Lara dutta can act you know i was surprised. She joins the like of Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai. Not that she acted brilliantly well in this but you can make out that she can definitely act and holds a lot of promise.

One thing is the end. How oh How did Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan even thought of producing this piece of sh**it

There was only one good thing: THE TIGER SEQUENCE. Amazing. And of course there was Tauba Tauba which came right in the end.

But i do applaud them for trying something new even though it was crap. This movie could have been a lot better.

Rating: **(2) stars on **** (4)

My Rate-o-meter explanation:

4 stars - brilliant, amazing, unforgettable, pure magic
3 1/2 stars - brilliant but lacked something.
3 stars - A good movie. A normal movie ... nothing brilliant but still worth a watch.
2 1/2 stars - Good but could have been better. An average affair.
2 stars - Bad.
1 1/2 stars and lower - Poor. Pathetic.

i havnt seen it - and i wouldnt want to. it looked rubbish from the trailer. anything associated with Karan Johar is going to be mindless.

`How oh How did Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan even thought of producing this piece of sh**it'

to make money! get a cast that dont charge much, put a SRK item no. and bob's your uncle.

2 Stars! Are you kidding! This movie does not deserve to be rated, it so SUCKS.
And Lara Duuta's acting was equally as horrible as everyone else's. Yes, she has potential, but every single scene in this movie was downright silly, unrealistic, and pathetic.

Whats up with:

1)the xtreme close ups of every damn animal's face?
2)the LOUD background music causing you more jerks in your seat than the supposed scary sequences?
3)Death scenes copied from OMEN, FINAL DESTINATION, DAY OF THE WILD?
4)Why is everybody'd car breaking down all the damn time??
5)The camera focusing close up on every bit of skin visible of John, Esha, Lara?
6)The absoultely MISERABLE dialogues straight out the worst 1970's American horror flicks?
7)A supposed thriller/horror flick inducing sleep with its utterly boring pace?
8) The gimmick songs at the beginning and the end?
9)The director not being able to make us care if any of them dies
10) All these city slickers carrying guns like its no big deal?

THE WORST RELEASE OF THE YEAR SO FAR...I give it 1 star for LAra Dutta's sexiness.

SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS....grrrr...

Ya, alright, it was something different...........but still it was pure crap. I agree completely with asbhatia on all his points. Everything in the film was way too amateurish, the camerawork especially. And the direction is really absurd. The actors were okay (anyway, in a film like this, great acting skills arent required)....but Vivek Oberoi really irritated me throughout. The background score seemed like it was added as if to deliberately scare the audience.

But I really appreciate the fact that there were no songs in the movie. Probably if Karan Johar had directed it, we would have even seen the tigers dance alongwith Lara and Esha (grandly dressed and jewellery, of course). A couple of scenes in Kaal were good, the scene with all the tigers showing up for the first and last time, and the well scene where Esha Deol dies.

But this movie was nothing even compared to all Ram Gopal Varma's thrillers (Darna Mana Hai, Bhoot). Agreed, they weren't masterpieces, but extremely well-shot and production values were quite high. Soham (the director of Kaal) hasn't learnt a thing from his mentor RGV (he assisted RGV for quite a while).

And guys, u know what.........our eternal favourite Taran Adarsh has given Kaal 4 stars. If u get sometime, just read his review at Indiafm. The way he's praised the movie......it'll seem like it's the greatest Hindi film masterpiece after Sholay. This is a small excerpt from his review

"At some point, KAAL reminds you of Spielberg's masterpieces JAWS and JURASSIC PARK. Also, it bears a slight resemblance to three Hollywood films, THE GHOST AND THE DARKNESS, WRONG TURN and THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT."

Comparing Kaal with movies like Jaws, Blair Witch Project and Jurassic Park (wtf!!!).......I think this guy Taran has seriously lost it......God knows when he'll stop licking Karan Johar and SRK's ass !

This movie caused more pain to my arse than my Haemoroides. Seriously, this movie was the most horrible movie I had ever seen.

Two scenes deserve special mention:

- The opening scene where John Abraham is trying to catch the snake. When the phone rings....he carries the snake like it is weightless haha.

- The scene where the guy goes to shoot some tigers. And, at one part...we see this hand come across his face....and DHUN !!! It turns out to be his hands as he wipes the sweat off it. CLASSIC ! HaHa !

Cheers.
