Getting email spammed?

I just received an email from " Heart Of The Beholder <[email protected]>" with the subject header of "Religious Censorship keeps Controversial Award-Winning Movie from Theaters".

The content is as follows:
"Reverend Donald Wildmon's "National Federation for Decency" DOES NOT want you to
see HEART of the BEHOLDER. See why for yourself - for FREE.

HEART of the BEHOLDER is based on a true story of religious censorship,
intolerance, and political corruption.

HEART of the BEHOLDER has won more Best Feature Film awards than any other
independent movie ever. But due to religious pressure distributors won't pick up
the controversial film.

HEART of the BEHOLDER is the first movie to be serialized into short
easy-to-watch video clips on the Internet. There is no cost, registration, or
login required to view these high quality videos.

I went to the WebTheater link which was virtually unwatchable due to ads constantly flashing across the viewscreen. The opening shot was a bunch of angry pro-gays vs anti-gays shouting rhetoric at each other. Total crap. I didn't want to watch anymore because: a)the viewing experience was severely hampered by the webpages desire to spam advertising and, b) the highly sensationalistic emotional and illogical ranting that was portrayed. Hey, I know people are idiots - I don't have to waste my time on this crap to figure that out. I agree with most other posters on IMDB that this should have been a documentary, not a dramatization.
I guess if they can't get their crap in the theatres, they're going to spam everyone. This induces me to support censorship. Good going, wingnuts!

I just got TWO spams promoting this film, so I came to IMDb to investigate instead of the site promoted. Thanks for taking the bullet for me by visiting the site. I'm actually very interested in this issue, but I'm very wary of the source and don't want to support spammers in any way.

I fully agree that a documentary needs to be made on the issue, instead of a dramatization. You'd think enough video footage and news accounts exist to make a worthwhile doc. But if that happens, I will seek it out on my own without the help of spammers, thankyouverymuch!

It's also available as a complete download at www.beholder.com (for rental or purchase), but is completely free if viewed either through www.beholder.com/webtheater or at www.metacafe.com. If you prefer, the DVD version is also available.

For the record, there simply is not enough news footage to make a documentary on the subject. Many of the principals are no longer with us, and some of the key people (for obvious reasons) won't appear on camera.

I don't reply to spam because that increases the level of junk e-mail once spammers know they have a "legit" address. I hope the recipients of your e-mails do not fall for this trick. It is unfortunate you have chosen to promote your film this way. Could you not get a distributor?
