There's one thing that really baffled/angered me in this film, even more so finding out that it was written by the man who was the victim of all of this. If your life and business are being destroyed by people who are out to get you, THEN, some person calls your home and tells you flat out that if you don't cease & desist, he will KILL YOUR DAUGHTER, why in the world would you not keep her in your sight every second?

These people are HORRIFIED when they get that call, in the next scene they are in the park with their friends, and they casually let their daughter go off with the friends' kids to get their face painted. HELLO? WHY? I cannot fathom this.

For me, there is no logic to this, no rhyme or reason, no anything. If this really happened, it is shameful. If it was just written this way, it is ghastly writing/storytelling.

The same issue had occurred to me. And I dismissed it based on several thoughts. Things have become more dangerous in the last decade for one. They didn't want to alarm the child, and had reason to trust the face painting personnel.

It brings me to mind of the JFK scene where the lawyer's housekeeper is freaking out because the lawyer's daugter has received a suspicious phone call about a beauty pageant. The lawyer is intent on NOT allowing unreasonable fear to sway his actions, including normalcy of domestic life. The whole purpose of many campaigns is to instill such fears and thereby control people. It makes sense on a certain level to stand firm against what are most often toothless abuses. And even when you may realize that the danger is solid, how do you respond without letting the abusers win?

We all make mistakes and learn as we live. We all have to find that balance of security and the strength NOT to be run over by fascists and tyrants. That is even more particularly relevant under the current US executive regime! Bush scares the hell out of me, but I won't be standing down. The truth WILL out!

How do you feel now that it is five years later? Your man is in office. He didn't close Gitmo. He pissed off the Israelis, the British, the French, the Greeks, the Spanish, even his own party. He tossed trillions out the window. Unemployment is a permanent 9 percent. He took down a benevolent goverment in Egypt. He continues in Afghanistan, Iraq. He started a war in Libya.

How do you feel now that you have a sensible president who thinks like you do?

Uh, Steve. Nowhere does libertyfelix say Obama was his/her "man". His presidential campaign didn't even begin until February 2007. The post is from 2006.

Regardless, I imagine libertyfelix is not too thrilled about our current politics, but keep in mind that Bush scared a lot of people six years ago. No weapons of mass destruction, a never-ending war, and a plunging economy were enough for many people to want him out. When he entered office, we had a surplus...when he left, we had a severe deficit. I went from admiring him for his strong 911 response to fiercely distrusting him. Even international opinion of America tanked in short order after invading Iraq, when the enemy was in Afghanistan. His presidency cost us dearly.

Permanent? Really? I think your drama queen is showing. ;)

How do you feel now that you have a sensible president who thinks like you do?

Your sarcasm aside, how were you able to discern that libertyfelix thinks like our current President? It seems you are profiling this individual based on a couple sentences in his/her last paragraph about a film.

Look, I get where you're coming from with regard to your points about President Obama, but let's leave highly emotional political debate to the many forums on the internet that cater to that interaction. A movie database is not the best place.
