It only had one season so far. Most shows don't do very good in the first season but I thought this one was pretty good. You guys should give it chance. What show do you know of that was great in its first season?
"People put you down enough you start to beleive it"
LozerFreak, I totally agree. Full House (the other famous John Stamos comedy) was ranked in the low 70s in its first season. It was nearly canceled. By the fourth season or so, it was in the top 10. Give the folks some time! The show's got potential.
home improvement had a fantastic first season. But I watched the first episode, and thought it was great! When it was on, it was one of my fav. shows. It's ashamed it got cancelled.
Friends wasn't a huge success in it's first season. NBC gave it a chance because they had other shows to bank on for Thursday Nights (Mad About You was bouncing around, Seinfeld was solid). They were able to ease Friends in, and likewise used Friends to ease Will & Grace in. But they knew in both cases that much of the ratings were due to timeslot and flow in from the surrounding shows. Shows like this need more leeway because they don't have the support that others have.
According to the post "Bam" it is coming back, but I'll believe it when I see it! It was on hiatus so they could revamp the show, then there were big advertising blitzes for it and "Emily", then before they even had a chance to develope a following, they were both gone
I heard Hill Street Blues did really bad the first season. I also heard that JAG was prematurely cancelled on NBC, but CBS reworked it and brought it back where it became successful.
Lost Grey's Anatomy (and it was a mid-season replacement) Desperate Housewives Prisonbreak Survivor American Idol
Notice how none that you mention are sitcoms. Sitcoms take awhile to find an audience, because it's not just about the comedy. The characters need to be developed. A drama can be a hit early because obviously they can just have something dramatic happen, but a sitcom has to depend on more light situations.
