The TV Version
I've just watched TB's Schooldays which I recorded weeks ago, and I thought it was good, but does anyone remember the series which I think was on Sunday afternoons, back in the 70's. It was brilliant, and went into a lot more detail because, being a series, there was a lot more time.
Apart from leaving me with a life-long fondness for men in wing-collars and bow-ties, it was also well acted and I really used to look forward to the next episode.
I have written to the BBC to ask if they are ever going to show it again, but their reply was vague and just directed me to a web-site connected to the book.
Does anyone know anything about it - is it available on video or DVD? I would love to see it again.
Also, does anybody know what happened to the actors? (I remember that Tom was played by Anthony Murphy, East was Simon Turner(who appeared in a few other things, but then seemed to disappear), Diggs was David Hampshire, and Brook was a rather handsome actor called Barry Stokes).
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
