Terrible Film

I went into to the movies with no expectations and I found it terrible.
I never cracked a smile except during the knife stabbing scene, in which I chuckled...
Since then I have seen Will Ferrel's other works and I just don't find his type of humour entertaining.

Overall: 1/10

I agree, the movie was not funny in the slightest. Didn't even crack a smile.

reply

I agree. Stupidest movie ever.

reply

I agree, Will Ferrell's worst film.... oh hang on he made Semi Pro since then...

Predicable, middle ground rubbish. Shame, once a long time ago Will Ferrell was actually quite funny. Anyone remember SNL... ;-)

Anything that makes fun of southerners and the South is alright by me.

reply

He did not spell humour incorrectly. It can be spelt both ways.

Humour = British

Humor = American

Favourite Movie: V for Vendetta

There is no such word as spelt. It's spelled. Idiot...

You didn't complete the definition:

Main Entry:2spelt
Pronunciation:\ˈspelt\
chiefly British past and past participle of spell

So if Ross is British, he's right. Here in the good ol' US of A we use spelled. Cal Naughton Jr kicks arse.

Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a f### how crazy they are!

reply

This isn't the US of A you butt farmer.

Everybody in the entire world mocks & laughs at the embarrassing, ridiculous US spelling of words - it truly is hilarious how absurd it is.

The correct spelling of the English language is the English version - FUNNY THAT!!

European English and American English are two different things, idiot.

@ tom_mangan21, Your history is almost as bad as your basic grammar. The revolutionary war was British fighting British. Also The French fought that war for them.

The French used you as pawns just like every-other country. Also That war ended when The British traitors begged for a treaty.

Now the US is owned by China lol. Trillions in debt to a dictatorship ha ha ha. Also did you have fun watching this film on your Tv. Tv that was invented by an English man in your country that was discovered by an English man lol.

The US does not even have it's own national language because everything they own is taken from someone else's.

The reason you speak English is because every part of your history, culture and laws are based on the English version.

Face facts, you owe everything you have to the English :).

Ferrell is far and away the most overrated comedian in America. Like "Wild Hogs," this travesty was aimed at those who consider a bug zapper and a 12-pack to be quality entertainment.

reply

No--the film makes fun of the people who consider the above to be quality entertainment.

3 Thumbs up--this film made me laugh non-stop. First or your last? That is deep for those raised to win at all costs as kids...

Will Ferrell is the best of the stupid saturday night comedians, but I agree he is on his decline. They just get awful when they decline, too. Anchorman and Talladega were his best.

With that new movie coming out starring Ferrell & Riley (which I think the latter is HILARIOUS by the way), I thought I'd finally check this one out.

Not sure what is so "funny" about this movie. I know a lot of it is ad-libbed, but most of it is very unfunny. Not to mention the "hero" of the movie is a total douchebag & idi0t through most of the movie...I certainly wasn't rooting for him or his bratty kids. Riley was the only redeeming quality of this movie, but he had only so much screentime & Michael Clark Duncan likes to dress up as Diana Ross....funny....But not much to laugh at.

Will Ferrell's claim to fame is taking off his clothes and running around in his tightie whities or "buck nekkid". Wow, how entertaining and funny. Hardly. He did it on SNL and it's been a fixture in his movies. His best movie was Stranger than Fiction and that's because it wasn't a "Will Ferrell" movie. His wife says he's not funny at home. I believe it, he's not funny in film and he was seldom funny on SNL. John C. Reilly is a damn good actor, he's got to stop working with Ferrell and Ferrell needs to go away if all he can do is junk like he's been doing. It's particularly funny when someone who likes this junk tries to claim that they're deep and that this is intellectual comedy. This is the opposite of intellectual comedy, it's not even stupid comedy. This is comedy for someone with an IQ below 75. The best part of the movie was John C. Reilly, Amy Adams and Gary Cole and it's not like I'm a big fan of Cole's, and Amy Adam's only because she's so damn cute, not that either had much to work with. Reilly's line, "I've got a pretzel in my head," may have been the funniest line. Actually the funniest part is the ending credits.
