It has some creepyness ** SPOILER ALERT **

Anything to do with a mortuary, corpses, and a cemetary is very creepy, and this movie had it's moments. Yes, the plot is a bad one. Also, they never explain what the fungus is, or where it comes from. They never explain the creature in that hole underneath the funeral home. Why on earth would a woman who has never embalmed, or done any work as a mortician take up a job as said mortician??? I have a relative who was married to a mortician. She got to put make up on the dead bodies, and probably embalmbed a few, but still, she would never become the lead mortician in a small town unless she went to college to study to become one, which she never did. Neither did the mother of the two kids in this movie. The young guy, Jonathan, looks about 16. He seems very rebellious, smoking pot, and cigarettes. He knows his mom has taken on quite a big responsibility, but he knows that she's not fit to be a mortician. That's why he took the job at the diner. The girl he works with, who is a total mesmerizingly beautiful HOTTIE named Liz, is sooo not his type. She is a girl you'd see with the football star of the school, not the new, dorky, nerdy son of the new town mortician. Rock salt will kill the zombies? Really? Well if i remember right, Jonathan and Liz threw rock salt on mommie dearest, but she was there at the ending, being malevolent as ever. Tina was destroyed from said rock salt. WTF!!!??? The ending of this movie is horrible!! I guess that means we're going to see a sequel. That would sure help explain all the mess we saw in the 90+ minute movie. Maybe it will be a rarity, and the sequel will turn out better than this first one. We can only hope!!!

Leslie does talk - at the beginning, in the car - about having gone back to school to take on her new career. But you're absolutely right about the end. It bugged me to the point that I went back and checked; she *is* hit with the salt, and she *does* start to disintegrate! She runs off-camera, but not before this happens; maybe the special effect was added in error.

However, overall, I thought the movie was a real hoot!
