ummm. jon heder isn't funny......at all

It's too bad that Jon heder is a one sided actor who continues reprising the role of napoleon dynamite, only without the stupid hair and not so funny boots. The only thing worse than jon heder are the morons who saw benchwarmers ( which was a decent film primarily because of the SNL alumni and nick swardson)and only laughed whenever napoleon jackass said any random little thing. If he said "yes" they would laugh. If he said the word "who" they would laugh. He isn't funny and niether was napoleon dynamite

reply

your wrong, im not just saying this cuz jon heder is my favorite actor, but benchwarmers was hilarious and napoleon was and still is funny

Person:A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Me:Whoops.

i am guessing this movie is going to be a little higher caliber of humor and he wouldn't just reprise napoleon, b/c he is trying to breakout as a lead actor again AND i seriously don't think actors of the caliber of Diane Keaton and Jeff Daniels would be in the movie if it was the same rehash...give them AND HIM credit! He's only done two movies with similar roles so far, benchwarmers and napoleon....jim carrey did that same thing before he started making his bigger movies...

reply

Yeah, he can really only play one character.

reply

I hated him in both Napoleon Dynamite and Benchwarmers (I really just hated the movies but he still wasn't that great) but I heard he was funny in Blades of Glory and he doesn't look that bad in this. He kind of looks like Andy Samberg in Hot Rod. Who knows, he might be funny.

reply

No Will Ferrel carries the laughs between their interactions. Jon sucks.

reply

I've been saying this for a long time, yet so few people agree. The truth is that he IS Napoleon Dynamite.

reply

i actually think he was really decent in school for scoundrels, blades of glory, and mama's boy. napoleon was OK and swardson was the funniest thing in benchwarmers but jon can do other things besides napoleon.

also, somebody earlier said that he is like andy samberg in hot rod. how? andy is one of my new favorite comedians and i fail to see the similarities.

yeah comedy is always funnier when it is rooted in truth, this character in this movie is trying too hard to be funny, and fails completely. It doesn't seem real at all, he feels artificial. And also very unlikeable...

Huh. I disagree completely with the OP of this thread. I found Heder to be very funny in this film, and the film itself was enjoyable. I don't understand all these people who keep saying that Heder always plays Napoleon Dynamite. I just don't agree, except in the case of BENCHWARMERS (which I thought was a piece of junk anyway). His character in MAMA'S BOY didn't remind me of his ND character. There were plenty of differences. What do people see that is so damned derivative? Besides the voice (which he can't help), and the fact that neither is exactly an 'Alpha' male, I didn't see any conspicuous similarity. Jon Heder is a very good actor, and not the one-note type alot of people are saying he is. Cut the guy some slack.
