Brad Pitt? There's no way he could have...

Let me just start of by saying that The Fountain is perfection in my eyes; just so you know where I'm coming from.

It can't really be compared. Brad Pitt isn't a bad actor in any way. And if he would star in this film we would also have Cate Blanchett insteead of Rachel Weisz. Not that that's saying anything, but the production would aslo have been smoother and the budget would be more than double than what it got in the end. We would have gotten quite a bit more action scenes in the Conquistador storyline (if you've read the graphic novel you know where budget cuts show in the movie). But ultimately I don't know if that would've helped the movie at all, in terms of quality, not box office.

With that being said, I'm glad the project with Pitt got scraped. It seemed he wanted too many rewrites and Aronofsky wanted to stick with his original vision.


And so we got the underrated perfection only a few of us know and love.
