Climactic scene....SPOILER!

I know that the scene where Dot finally can't take it anymore and kills Paul is supposed to be a very emotional and tense scene, but the whole thing with Dot yelling "Leave her alone!" and "Shut up!" just sounded ridiculous. Slow motion with some sort of added effect to her voice, it was ridiculous. To me, that scene failed terribly. It's hard to describe the real reasons why and I'm not really even sure what those reasons are, but the whole thing just seemed ridiculous. Not her killing him or yelling at him, but I guess her yelling for him to shut up, with no sound other than her voice. I know it was supposed to give some type of effect and mood, but it just sort of made me shake my head.

The plural of mouse is mice. The plural of goose is geese. Why is the plural of moose not meese?

I happen to agree. When I watched the scene, I thought it was oddly done.

reply

Agreed as well. I understand the intent: to reveal that Dot can hear and talk, while simultaneously showing closure and retribution on creepo Pops. But it just didn't work for me.

reply

I agree. It came across as bizarre and awkward.
