THE UDDERS WERE A JOKE! READ THIS!

If you you go to the goof section of Barnyard you will find.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Yes, the male cattle have udders; it's a joke.

THERE IT'S BEEN CLEARED UP!

reply

Also if you go to the Trivia section you'll see this.

The "male" bovines having udders was explained in the October 2006 issue of Nickelodeon's official magazine, "Nick Magazine". In the letters page, one reader asked about the anatomically-incorrect cows(bovine) and whether or not it was intentional or not, and the magazine explained that the movie's director "thought it would be funny for the male cows(bulls) to have udders".

When an animated cow (with a obviously male voice) calls another cow (also with a male voice) "Father" it just goes too far into stupid (as opposed to funny). I turned this movie off after 15 minutes and moo-ved onto another things... another mutation movie called X-Men Last Stand.

reply

HAHAHAHAHAHA!......not.

reply

OK, its a joke. Thank god! I was starting to think that there was a lot more stupid people in the world than I thought! Ha ha ha, very funny guys.
However, is anyone else disturbed that this kind of s***t passes as a joke in films these days? I'm a film student and my tutors would have KILLED me, had they seen bulls with udders in my film. It wasn't necessary.

No no no see this is a really s**t idea. Do you know why? Because its really OBVIOUSLY a s**t idea.

reply

They probably didnt realise that people would bitch about it like they are.I guess they underestimated the idiocy of the US population.

This is obviously a spin on a bad decision made by Oedekerk who had his head up his butt and his "yes" men weren't about to tell him what a stupid idea it was. Or, to be fair because I don't know the guy, perhaps he's taking the fall for some higher level executive idiot.

Not only are audiences smarter than to buy a bad joke, we can recognize corporate back-pedaling when we see it.

So the filmakers actually thought that when I watched this movie, my first reaction would be to point at the screen and laugh out loud, "HAHAHA! The males have udders! Oh hahahahah! Oh that is so funny!" I should slap that director and say, "That's not funny!" Because it's not funny. It's stupid.

reply

That's what I'm screamin'! Horribly horribly STUPID! I bet the filmmakers really did goof and just tried to play it off like a joke when they got busted. Besides, kids are growing up dumb enough already without being exposed to this idiotic crap.

I think this post nailed it. This was a bunch of Hollywood types who have never left the city in their entire lives including the entire crew apparently not to catch this one. They were also too arrogant and stubborn to admit they knew nothing even to the point of not hiring any farm experts. Now, I knew some farmers who saw this and laughed quite a bit. However, they weren't laughing WITH the movie but AT the idiots who made it. There were some funny parts and an ok story though not a good one, and I really think the cows having udders and not being bulls took away from the whole man needs to stand his ground plot story. Its hard to take it seriously. Its a film to possibly good enough to rent, but not own. There were just too many other good options in 2006 in the genere of animated films (or any films for that matter).

reply

Oh puhlease.

They deliberatly did it.What fun would it be if bulls had the lead.Cows make it seem softer and adorable.Bulls probably would have made it intimidating besides a bull would have kicked that wolves ass right of the bat.

Yes, this is stupidity at its highest level. And even more when they try to make us believe it was a joke. Please, take a close look at Oedekerk's work, despite his success at box office, he doesn't seem to be an acknowledged person about facts of life.

An ox with udders? That's why kids are getting more and more imbeciles. Anyone knows the sad story about school children in Japan drawing chickens with 4 legs, because they never saw one, and they believed a chicken has 4 instead of 2 because that's the number of legs they serve at KFC???

It's as stupid as Mickey Mouse having a dog as a pet (Pluto) AND a dog as a friend (Goofy). Therefore, NOT FUNNY!

reply

it must have been kids in usa , japan have a high education level .

reply

I think they were trying to make it seem like that! I mean ,think ,The boys have female body parts!

reply

i am a man and I have nipples, so although I thought it was strange that the cow had udders I can see the irony, but a talking cow? don't see many of those around my way.

reply

i had to stop watching the movie after five minutes because i could not take a male cow having udders...it just bothered me too much! it was weird! i cannot believe a whole studio full of people did not catch this blunder! noone would have this kind of joke?! it's not even funny!

You lispatel obviously cannot read.

I Think You People Put Way Too Much Thought In A Children's Movie.
It Isnt Real,It Isnt Suppose To Be.I Personally Thought The Males Having Udders Was Adorable.

EXACTLY! Those fruit & nut goofs in CA. did a great job passing over titts on a dude as ok. My 6yr old was blown away when he saw a bull with boobs. They say they purposley put udders on a bull for a joke. I call BS! They had know idea what they were doing. I can't believe 'ol Sam Elliott didn't step in.

reply

Actually Sam did. Look at the part where he calls otis his sister then retracts it.

reply

that joke is as pointless as tits on a bull... oh wait...

reply

Ah, therein lieth the joke. Tits on a bull...

reply

[ha ha] you people.

reply

Thank gawd!!! First scene and I was "What the hey, male cows with udders?" But if it was a JOKE then well it all makes sense... not!

reply

Did you just say 'not!' ? wtf? that was like grade 1 sarcasm how old are you?

reply

There's no such thing as a male cow. Cow is the female, bull is the male.

reply

I don't get what the big deal is. I'm watching the movie for the first time right now, and I think it's cute. You people need to stop making such a big deal about the udders. It's just a kids movie, for heaven's sake

reply

I would have enjoyed this movie a LOT more, had the bulls been anatomically correct, or at least, without udders... I can't explain why exactly, but it bothered me all the way through. The only times I could watch the movie undistracted were when the 'bull udders' were not on screen - then I could at least forget about them for a moment or two.

If it was a joke, it was not funny. I didn't even consider that it would have been a joke on the director's part - because I didn't think he would have dreamed up such an inane joke, given that otherwise it was a good movie. Too bad really, because this misfire really hurt the overall picture.
