Don't watched the dubbed version

Go for subtitles ....

reply

I know what you mean.

The dubbed version just sounded horrific.

I really feel sorry for other countries having to watch a lot of programs/films dubbed. Then again, they have some very good voice actors.

reply

disagree

the dubbed version was nice although you will lose the sense of orginiality

but i don't care

i liked the dubbed one

reply

the dubbed one was just fine!

Yeah i found the dubbing isnt to bad, will check out the sub titled version at a later date, but dont be put off by it.

The Best War Movie is a Anti-War Movie!

reply

it really wasnt bad, and actually sometimes i was convinced it wasnt french

reply

I watched the dubbed version with subtitles on because I couldn't understand the accent.

reply

I watched the subtitled version. I usually hate dubbing unless it's for an exploitation movie (like an Italian zombie film) then I don't really mind it.

I started with French audio and English subtitles and had to go to English audio because the subtitles annoyingly included sound effects! Ever have this problem on a DVD?

reply

where can i get this movie i saw a chunck of it at a friends house online but i hanvt been able to find it

reply

plurality-1, I think you must have watched it with the closed captioning turned on instead of subtitles. CC usually includes sound effects for the hearing impaired, while most subtitles do not. How did you activate them--with your remote key or through the menu?

reply

I started with French subs, but they were going a million miles an our. So i HAD to change to dubbing it. I ddidnt mind too much.

reply

The dubbing isn't horrible, but they really had some bad choices for the actor's voices. They really just didn't match. I watched it for the first time with subtitles, which in this film are extremely fast and I don't know why. Thankfully, I understand French so I didn't really miss anything, but those were some of the fastest subtitles I've ever seen.

Dubbed version was fine. There were no subtitles on the DVD I watched anyways.

reply

The English dub is hilarious. Definitely watch it dubbed.

reply

while the dub wasn't outstanding, it is still better than trying to read while people are doing monkey flips and other crazy stuff... makes me dizzy... i also didn't watch this for the plot... unless you can understand the language it was filmed in, use the english dub...

I just watched a dubbed clip for laughs and your so right, the cops accent is hilarious! If you haven't already seen it dubbed in English I recommend Ong Bak for comical value :-)

Yeah, dubbed version looked just ridiculous.

reply

I enjoyed the dubbed version. It wasn't supposed to be a totally serious film and the dubbing went along with that, offbeat but fun.

The dubber version with regional British accents is hilarious. Absolutely watch the dubber version; some of the best and most inspired dubbed scripting I've heard.
