Leitos sister lola (Spoiler)

lola is kept prisioner for over six months and presumbly shes given drugs (most likely herion) every day.
at the end of the film when her and letio head back into Disctrict 13 she seemes fine.
herion is the most addictive drug u can get and surely if shes been exposed to it for such a long time she may never recover?

i suppose the filmakers just went for a happy ending

I completely agree with the OP. Not only that, but it's my belief that she's probably been raped on a daily basis during that period of time as well. How on Earth she can recover that fast, and be all smiles and giggles afterwards is just beyond me.
That plot hole just killed the whole thing for me!

Well a couple of points maybe that can be used to explain this. We dont know she was giving drugs EVERY day, we are assuming she was. She also may not have been raped on a daily basis, that cant be proved. And lastly she had grown up in district 13 and was probaly a lot harder then the average person, that was shown in the first bit when she was not fazed when her brother and her had to escape the bad dudes, she was not scared at all, so even if she was raped a number of times, its possable she was able to block out what had occured and once she was free just accept that it had happened but now the gang lord guy was dead and thus she had had her revenge

Hmmm,

Well considering that one of the last lines spoken in the movie is "construction begins on Monday" or something to that affect. So it would see that the big scandal involving the mayor's comments on camera about B13 had come and gone and construction plans had already been drawn up and contractors hired hired for the work, it possible that some considerable amount of time had passed between the scene in the Mayor's office and the last scene when Damien drops off Leito and Lola. In that time she may have gone through some kind of rehab. Just a thought!!!

two minutes of screen time could have been spent to avoid this question.

- show Lola ever defiant, but that "spunk" intriguing Taha enough so that he doesn't want to dampen that spirit. (cliche, yes, but...)
- a toss off remark from K2 about Taha being limp (from frequent drug use).
- since they tried to make K2 a likeable chap, a scene where he just pretends to dose her, spouting some hack bit about Lola reminding him of his kid sister
- one quick line at the end that the leash story was made up to spur Leito into action. (and also remove that cutaway scene)

or just toss the "6 months later" bit and have the whole story happen within the 24 hour deadline period.

after all, most of the 24 hours disappeared. it would be a better way to have Leito try to convince Damien it's a ruse by having him describe seeing the van when he walked through with a gun to Taha's head. the idea that Damien himself saw the van, but didn't notice it being unmarred by explosives or gunfire was weak.

The thing that bothered me even more than what the OP brought up, is that Taha got off far too easy. If something like that happened to my sister I'd feed the guy his own scrotum and then drive my thumbs into his eyes.

The drugs and that she was probably being raped and/or prostituted on a regular basis. That seems to be glossed over in this movie.

Not everyone using heroin becomes addicted. The addiction rates for all who use it is only about 23%. Meaning that, if you have 23,000 addicts in NYC, then 100,000 people total are using it at that time. The actual number of addicts/users for NYC is probably higher.

Anyway, if she was doped up against her will for six months, she may not have necessarily become addicted to the stuff. If she had no physical addiction, then she would not have experienced withdrawal symptoms once she stopped.
