Shed a tear for they are done.

RBD is calling it quits now and many of our hearts are hurt. I can't help but feel that it is an end of an era for latino music, as well as music in general. I will miss you RBD. Anyone else feel the same towards RBD?

reply

Ehh, maybe not as strongly, but its still sad.

I'll definitely miss RBD. If I had never come across Rebelde, I wouldn't have been introduced to them, and Latin music in general, gotten a better grip on the Spanish language (when I tried to translate their songs), and probably wouldn't have realized I want to major in Spanish in college.
I wonder what happened exactly. RBD said that they would only break up if everyone agreed to it, but from reading some of Anahi's posts on the forums it seems like she doesn't want this to happen...
Well, as the first part of my signature says:

Estaras siempre en mi corazon...
You can't stop the beat 'cause that's just the way we roll

i heard that since everything was not the same with cd sales and concert sales they wanted to leave with them still being at the top rather than when nobody pays attention to them.
Anahi wanted marches to show that people still care and rbd can continue but i think its over

OMG...Where have I been? When was this announced? I just heard it from Carlos on MTV Tr3s. Wow...2 years ago they were my idols. I was almost obsessed with them. I always had to watch them on TV if they had any TV appearances, performances, specials, & of course the novela. They would be the only reason why I watched Premios Juventud, Lo Nuestro, etc. I played out the Nuestro Amor CD like crazy every day after school. I wanted the whole world to know about them & I thought they were the best, coolest band ever, the only actual band I ever loved & went crazy over lol. They basically remind me of good times when I was 16-17. I had a feeling their end was coming though. I started to lose interest in them sometime in early 2007. I still liked them, but not as much as in 05-06, & my interest in them just slowly kept on decreasing, idk why. & I was just thinking the other day when are they gonna come out with a new song already? & then I hear this news. I will miss them, the Latin music world will be different without them. I will be following each of their new careers though.

I just saw them today in concert and I have to say I really liked it. I had a lot of fun. I don't know 99% of their lyrics and stuff and never really paid attention to them, but they do have talent. I heard from a fan in the concert that each of them are going solo and this is the 'good bye tour'. It's kind of sad, they are/were huge. Best of luck to them in whatever they choose to do.
I'm a little ashamed that I didn't pay attention to them before, I'm from Venezuela and obviously I should know latin music.
Oh! And their song 'Inalcanzable' it's beautiful.

Wow. I didn't know about this until I stumbled upon this thread. I was exposed to them when I watched Rebelde on TV two years ago. I have been a fan of theirs since then. If that's really the case, I would say that it may be sad, but you know what they say, all good things must come to an end. Besides, if any of them have solo work in the future (I am already aware that Anahi has solo albums, by the way), I'll be sure to check them out. I started liking latin music by listening to Paulina Rubio, but RBD actually made me like it more than I did before.

I'm kind of a big deal. People know me.

I didn't find about this until yesterday when a friend told me they were splitting. I mean, I knew this was coming but its still sad. I fell in love with RBD when I was like 12 and they have been a big part of my life until about a year ago. Because of them that I started listening to Spanish music and discovered some of my favorite artists. Their split sort of marks the end of an era for latin music. I'll miss them but it is better for them to split before they become has-beens.
