I miss this show :(
The teen soaps are always fun to watch, but very few actually come out to be such a big impact. From the late 90s to now there have only been a few that have won the audience as much as these.
Sonadoras was really a breakthrough teen soap that brought us a lot of up and coming celebrities that made it big. The story was so entertaining and it was very realistic too. You really felt close to those characters and understood their motives. It was fun to step behind each character for at least 15 minutes and see what it would be like.
Amigas Y Rivales, another great youth soap opera with a much older theme though. The characters were in college appose to high school, but still felt very high school in a way. It was almost like the sequel to Sonadoras and that made this soap even better.
El Juego de la Vida, was another fun soap that did a lot during it's short life on the air. It still brought a lot of up and coming actors into the business and it sure made a difference.
Classe 406, another amazing soap that actually comes close to beating nearly every other youth soap. This one dealt with very hard yet important issues in Mexico. The first season was truly a winner and reached a lot of popularity. It didn't hold back on a lot of issues and that made it fresh on TV. The following seasons began to lower in writing quality, but they were just as fun. The first season had a very dark and edgy theme while as the seasons progressed they became lighter and lighter.
Rebelde, has probably been one of the last teen soaps that had a big impact in the soap world in the Spanish community. Not only did it reach extreme fame in Latin America and it also exploded with creating a pop group that actually did amazing in the real world. It was so interesting to see a fictional pop group explode into the real world and become more successful than the soap it self.
I'll have to say that I miss Rebelde and it's entire era which includes the band!
