How stupid do the Republicans think we are?

They wanted those tax cuts for the rich, and now they are going after the middle classes to make up for what should've come from the pockets of the wealthiest individuals in our country. It's absolutely disgraceful what the Republican Congress is attempting to do. They don't care about the working man! They are so deep into the corporations pockets they can't even see their own home state anymore. Our country has been bought and paid for by the corporations, and they even have the Supreme Court under their thumb as well. Welcome to the new America! Where the rich get richer, and the poor and middle classes get poorer. It isn't the Unions that are making us poor, it's the rich people who have all the clout and could give 2 *beep* about the rest of the country. Greed is the American way now, and look what it's done. If you think that this is a result of liberals, than you have your head immersed so far up your own ass that if we look down your throat we could have eye contact.

Well, if you have to ask .... ?

.....yes, I'm afraid I have to ask. I don't think that's committing a foul, it's a true inquiry. If you're okay with being placated and patronized, I guess that's your option, but I feel the need to make some noise. THAT'S more patriotic than sitting idly by and watching the rich turn the clock back to the guilded age.

Look at what the unions (liberals) do before you blast "the rich". Tell me one difference between the two.

The unions protect the workers of this country. If everyone has to make concessions, so be it. But do not take away the right of the people to have a voice, which is really what the Wisconsin protests are all about. This is America, and we have a right to have a say in our lives, and working conditions. The Unions were organized for a reason, because peoples right were being trampled. If we all have to take cuts, then we'll take cuts (except for the tax breaks for the rich, no one has cut those!), but we have a right to be heard, and that Wisconsin governor is acting like a dictator. He should be recalled.

Give em hell laurasmile! whoo-hoo! I don't know much about the Wisconsin governor, but if he's trying to take away people's voice, than he should be recalled. Wow, and I liked the Packers.........

1. Very few employed people are members of unions.
2. Unions were organized because peoples right were being trampled. Those protections they fought so hard for are now protected by law. Maybe you should be more appreciative of the buggy whip or hand-cranked starter motors on cars and all their usefulness in today's world as well.

Most public sector unions protect pencil pushers and teachers who get paid more (even before their cushy benefits are factored in) than the average employee that has to work a full 12 months a year earns. Required "bonuses" and non-merit salary increases. Pensions that are so cushy you could sleep on them. Tax dollars sent directly to the union through dues sent directly to political parties.

I am a teacher, and I know of almost no one who lives this "cushy" life style you describe. We are on a very strict budget, just like everyone else. We've had benefits cut, hours cut, teachers and aides cut, more students added to our classes, more federal mandates added. I don't know what you mean by tax dollars sent directly to the union, that's something that we have all voted on, as is our right as Americans. You make it sound like we're trying to bamboozle someone, when we're trying to teach children! What and who do you think we are? The cynicism of your comments is unbearable. Is this the America you aspire to? Where teachers are denigrated and schools are in despair? Where suspicion rules and ignorance is hailed as something good? My husband does work 12 months out of the year between running summer school and attending graduate school, which we pay for on our own. He does this so he can better himself as an educator and a person. Is this a bad thing? I thought that's what you did in America, you better yourself. You want to go back to the dark ages, turn back the clock if you will. The American you want is from another century.
