natalie and alexander

hey guys,

could anyone of you please tell me what has happened between alexander and natalie at the end of the show? I was unable to finish watching the series as my holiday was cut short. does alexander marry maria or does he choose natalie?
and if he chooses the latter, how does it happen? (for instance jealousy etc.)

reply

Natalie left Andrey in church and they didn't get married. Later Andrey died from shot of pistol (his mother was guilty in it). Natalie was depressed and decided to leave court for some time. He left Alexander because he was engaged and couldn't marry her.

reply

Obviously Natalie can't marry Alexander because that would be historically incorrect. He doesn't get married to a Russian, but to a foriegner, and then they have like 4 daughters and 1 son. (the whole duchesses maria, anastasia...) so yea. although the plot would be a lot cuter, i really highly doubt it's going to pass.

No no no no no. Alexander Nikolajevitš Romanov married Maria Alexandrovna of Hessen-Darmstadt and they had 8 children; 6 sons and 2 daughters. After Maria's death Alexander married his longtime lover, Jekaterina Mihailovna Dolgorukaja with whom he had 2 sons and 2 daughters.

Sweerypie, you must have confused Alexander with his grandson, Nicholas II Alexandrovitš Romanov. He married Alexandra Feodorovna of Hessen-Darmstadt and they had 4 daughters, Olga, Tatjana, Maria and Anastasia, and 1 son, Alexei. All were murdered in Jekaterinburg/Sverdlovsk in 1918 as we all know.

Aleksandr and Maria had two daughters: Aleksadra and Maria and six sons: Nikolai, Vladimir, Aleksis, Aleksei, Sergei and Pavel! Nikolai was the future Tsar! Their daughter Aleksandra died when she was only 7 years old! I read some where that Aleksandr had four sons with his lover Yekatarina!

reply

No no no. Incorrect again. Aleksandr and Maria had the 2 daughters Maria and Aleksandra (that was correct) and six sons Nikolai, Aleksandr, Vladimir, Aleksei, Sergei and Pavel. Nikolai (or Nicholas as an english form) WAS supposed to become the Tsar but he died before his father, so Aleksandr (III) became the tsarevitš, the heir to the crown.

The five last Tsars are so easy to remember by name;
Aleksander I Pavlovitš
Nikolai I Pavlovitš (brother of Aleksander I)
Aleksander II Nikolajevitš
Aleksander III Aleksandrovitš
Nikolai II Aleksandrovitš.

Believe me, I know these facts.

But Aleksandr Nikolajevits Romanov also had 4 children with his lover Princess Catherine Dolgoruki:

George Alexandrovich Romanov Yurievsky (1872-1913)

Olga Alexandrovna Romanov Yurievsky (1873-1925)

Boris Alexandrovich Yurievsky (1876-1876)

Catherine Alexandrovna Romanov Yurievsky (1878-1959)!
