What the movie doesn't cover.

That there are a lot of normal, healthy, creative people into serious erotic role play that love pretending they are crippled or amputated and that done the "right way" this fantasy is hot and fun. They also didn't touch on that it's a part of a larger theme, sexual dominance and submission, also very hot for many people, it isn't "just" wheelchair or disability or brace fantasies that people have, it goes way deeper and is very complex and meaningful, as opposed to twisted and disturbed. Hollywood needs to make a film about people who are creative in bed because they are erotic and brilliant people, but no one seems to care about this or even know about it, it's sad really. There is much about this fantasy that's "good", fun and creative, if you know, you know, if you don't, you probably will let your ignorance and lack of creativity prejudge people that are far more creative and interesting than you.

"a lot". "for MANY people", "complex and meaningful", "erotic and brilliant people" "more interesting that you" but....
"no one cares", due to "ignorance and a lack of creativity" "prejudge people"

Hey they are still putting together the criminal defense team for the 9/11 plotters IN Manhattan. That team could probably use similar inverted descriptions of the obvious.

Your just part of the crowd that doesn't get it, too bad for you. Erotic fantasy and 9/11 murderers, good connection.

I thought this film was about BIID, not acrotomophiliacs...

Apotemnophilia is the erotic interest in being or looking like an amputee, that was her trip, well, being a cripple too, his trip was denying the car accident and using his (fake) paralysis to deal with the psychological pain of it's aftermath. But what bothered me was the absence of any acknowledgment that some, if not most, of these fantasies and normal, healthy and fun, and sexy. Or maybe the film makers knew, they just wanted to make a movie about a related subject, one that is more dark and depressing.

reply

Sure. But then there are the few who fall outside of the types of people you describe. This is one of those stories, so what?
