Is this board missing lots of earlier posts?

I've still not watched this whole movie, having been put off fairly early into it, such that I returned to the book, the 1995 mini-series, and BRIDE AND PREJUDICE, all of which I so enjoy. But various interests led me to the discussion board, and I see that the earliest posts here seem to be from around April of 2016. Surely, earlier posts must have been here at some point, no? Is it just a case of imdb needing to clean out some space or something?

Just make a movie that makes me care, one way or another. I'm open.

Yes, there use to be many pages of posts. They seem to purge every so often.

Hard drive space is so cheap, and text takes so little of it, that deleting older posts does not make sense at all.

Rather than just space it's more likely to be the efficiency of the database that holds the posts that declines as number of posts increases.

That may very well be true, but they should upgrade their database, not delete older posts. Or archive/not index older posts and only show them if the viewer requests to see them.

Oh, I so agree.

The loss of years' worth of contributions is a huge shame, almost vandalism.
