How did Kenya come about to being Eddie's daughter? I have always wanted know. I don't know if I missed something in an episode or it's a generalization that Eddie was with a woman at one time and took on full custody or did he adopt Kenya?? I am stumped on this one. Can anyone answer this one for me? Thanks!
shareI have watched every episode (most of them several times each courtesy of LOGO endless reruns) and I do not recall Kenya's parentage ever being addressed.
I always assumed that Eddie was previously married to a woman, before he fully dealt with his sexuality. This was reinforced for me by the presentation of his character being relatively "straight acting."

In addition, I was reading somewhere (online) that Kenya was simply put into the storyline to show viewers and/or critics that a single father who gay and dates can exist (political reasons), however, I assumed the same. I assumed that Eddie was with a woman and took custody of Kenya.

shareThat story background is on one of the "digisode" extras in the season 2 DVD box set - Chance & Noah are having wine on the patio & Chance swears Noah to keep the secret that none of the other guys know about Eddie's past. Eddie's "ex", and Eddie adopted Kenya. / Eddie's ex got sent to prison- he was messing around with being a drug dealer.
