Goldfish Scene

When the bus driver is strapped into the chair, and forced to watch the goldfish on the widescreen TV, he is made to feel a wide variety of emotions and sensations. However, nowhere in the film does it tell us how this might be accomplished. It would require some new and alien leap in technology.

Do the notebooks in the bus driver's house have something to do with it? What was he studying or cataloging? And, the executive seems to feel the commercial potential is limitless, but I am wondering how they would harness and control this power.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

*SPOILERS*

The interaction between John and Gerard is not real. John is delusional and the whole psychic TV™ goldfish scene shows how far his mind has deteriorated.

think he mentions "code", something between subliminal messages and "brain control" signals
