Why so many Australians?

I found it quite astounding that a film about historical English figures should have so many Australian actors in the lead roles.

Don't get me wrong, they are all excellent actors and I live in Australia, but with the wealth of British actors, you would think that they would use English people to play their royalty, courtiers and advisers.
