nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

the original made me cry with the sad music. especially the haunting title song..

the song she sings when she dies is just too touching. it rivals beaches.

so the new one doesnt have it at all?
is it as touching in the end?

cmon they atleast must sing the "zuckermans famous pig song right"?????

No, but it has a very beautiful and wonderful score by Danny Elfman.

My biggest disappointment in this remake (which is certainly wonderful, in itself) was the exclusion of Charlotte's song about the changing seasons & the passing of time. Obviously, the original is my favorite. :) - I certainly understand that the times & popular culture change, which is likely the reason it was thought necessary to update the music in the remake.

However, although the remake is wonderful because the story is beautiful, I felt it lacked a lot of the emotion of the original. In part, that was because of the change in music & also, I felt, a much lighter tone in the narration than in the old version. Those two components together; the original narrator speaking over Charlotte's beautiful song are just perfection,- everything I remember so fondly about seeing it as a child. --- I cried watching the remake, but I bawled like a little girl with a skined knee practically the ENTIRE way through the original!!! ;)

It's hard to believe the animated original is 41 years old. I loved it as a child too. The Sherman brothers wrote gorgeous timeless tunes.

E.B. White disliked the original film because of the music, but I loved the music in the original and thought this remake could have used it. Badly, too. As another poster mentioned, this was a rather frigid, unemotional remake.
