It was a very good show

An incredible show, actually. It sucks deeply, that it was canceled after the first season.
I would have thought that it would have been able to find its own audience.
I find hard to believe that anyone who's a working actor anywhere in the world, would not be drawn to this.

Agree one of the best shows on HBO. Shame it was cancelled.

I was sad too--I really liked it. A Lot..

But one of the things that may have been a problem with this show--was that--

it was very personal to actors and actresses. Speaking, as an aspiring actress myself, I empathized with what they were going through. I saw parts of my future in the characters. I understood the drive that they had for it, etc etc.

Therefore, I liked it very much.

Although, if there was a show, say, about aspiring accounts or aspiring business people (i.e. aprentice, etc), I would be less inclined to watch it.

So, those people that did not have a heart for acting or theatre, etc, I feel could not identify with this show that much, so therefore it was a bit foreign and hard to relate to.

So, because the actors that can afford to have HBO--haha--is a rather small percentage, I assume, of the audience of HBO, this was a bit less appealing.

~But that's just me~

Well I'm not an actor and I liked the show even though it was produced by someone I hold in low regard, namely George Clooney the new media darling for the far left.

The beautiful Krista Allen alone was a reason to watch it.

As far as your aspirations of becoming an actress I wish you all the luck in the world. Keep at it and I'm sure you will suceed. When you do please let me know. I write reviews for films and/or TV shows that I like. I'd be more than happy to write a favorable review.

Good luck.

aww...thanks leftyguns....i'll be sure to let u know when i'm a bigger name than Krista Allen.

even though I don't agree with your political views...

but the thing is...you are involved with the theatre/film business so you have more of a connection, but people who aren't involved in entertainment at all may have found it hard to relate too.

Follow through and you will be soon.

I have written several reviews on IMDB. If you ever have time go to my profile/comments page and check out my comments on the films/show I've commented on.

I'm a non-actor (and don't much care for Clooney's politics but very much for his work in Hollywood) and I loved this show. I would have thought that Krista Allen and Bryan Greenburg would have pulled in the guys and girls both in to watch outside of Hollywood or any other acting-mecca. It may have helped if they had more cameos which probably would have been easy to get. I did enjoy the Sam Rockwell Cameo....more of that would have kept them on the air, I'm sure of it.

I agree that it might have been something that in the end it's hard to identify with for someone who's not an actor or doesn't work in some way in the business (and of course the poster who said is a film critic is also someone who works in the business), but one season is still a very short time.
I sort of hoped that it would have found its niche audience.
I watched other episodes, and it really cuts through the stereotypes and goes to the real core.
It was a great show.
