So is this show cancelled or what?

Whats the story here? Is this show going to have another season or is it cancelled?

reply

if you check the website, it says it was only a 10-episode series.

reply

It was cancelled but is now on DVD.

THROUGHOUT THE TEN-EPISODE SERIES, Krista, Bryan and Jennifer appear in real-life situations, including a maze of offices and real film productions, crossing paths with real-life Hollywood stars and directors. From humiliating jobs and padded resumes to professional breakthroughs, UNSCRIPTED offers a revealing look at the sometimes raucous, often disillusioning world of the struggling actor.

SO IT WASN'T CANCELLED!

No, the show was cancelled. George Clooney has always been open about the highs and lows of his career thanks to his well-known sense of humor, which is why he freely mocks his role in Batman and discusses the cancellation of "unscripted". I never had a chance to see the show, but it was critically-acclaimed and very well received. But not enough people watched it. So they cancelled it. Nothing against what sounds like a great show; but they did cancel it.

"Throughout the ten-episode series" is merely a count of the total amount of shows, not an indication that it was ever supposed to only be a ten-episode series. That's like missing five snow days during a normally one-hundred day school year and then announcing "throughout the ninety-five day school year." Again, it's merely a count, not an indication that it was planned to only be a ninety-five day school year.

George Clooney, who produced the show that starred his ex-girlfriend, has talked about the cancellation of the show in the past. So if you don't believe me, you should believe him:

"Clooney: Exactly. What I liked about that show so much is that it was a love letter to actors. We were saying, 'This is what 99 percent of us do for a living, is try to get a job.' And the victories are: An agent might like you - not even take you, but say something nice to you. There's all kinds of victories. It's too bad we were canceled, because we were really proud of that show. I think HBO has a lot of show business shows. We were really well-reviewed, and I thought we'd do all right. Other shows survived it. We did 'K Street' first, then 'Unscripted.' So we've done one about politics and one about actors, and now Grant and I are doing one about the NBA. It's sort of the same formula we've done with those other two worlds."

For other articles where he discusses the cancellation, you can easily and quickly search for the show's title on Google.

rude begets rude. can you say *snap* janelleknd?

I know, right? ;-) It's one thing to say "I think you might be mistaken." It's quite another to say "I SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" especially when you're sure entirely convinced that the wrong thing you believe is true, when it's absolutely NOT.

I SAIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD...

I'm one of the ones who didn't watch and feel bad about it. I caught all 10 episodes during the week and I must say I enjoyed it. Its crazy because at times you can't tell if you are watching a documentary or a tv series. Sad to hear it isn't coming back. I think what the show lacked is the commercial appeal of let's say a Entourage. I think you can actually learn from Unscripted if you're an aspiring actor/actress.

The one saving grace is that many new fans can discover, or rediscover the series on DVD, which with higher definition video and audio, without commercials ands back-to-back, provides at least a very enjoyable viewer experience.

thanks for your comments.

If it sells enough DVD's and maybe with some reruns it can ge tthe success of being un-cancelled such as Family Guy...its a hope....

That's a longshot though. Actors move on, sets are destroyed, contracts expire, directors, producers and writers move onto new projects etc. If it came back, the look, style, actors, quality and everything else would be so different, it would probably feel like all great shows in their final season, when you wish it didn't last that long so that you didn't have to witness its decline. This is why the only shows that ever return are animated (no sets, animators always are searching for work, no sets to worry about, etc.) and also why they only get a second chance on "test" networks like Sci-Fi, Comedy Central or Fox. But even though this show will never return, it will always live on in non-commercial, high-quality DVD.

I am watching it right now and this is great so great so true
I am one of the international actor in LA, I am French and we never portrayed in films or tv that is weird
but we get to experience everything those guys do, it is even harder we have an accent.
They should have portrayed actors branching out, I am branching out a bit on screenwriting, directing and stand up comedy. I am now in post production on my documentary Frenchie goes to Hollywood.
Well done to you if you were involved in unscripted, they should be more of those.
My documentary is also about Hollywood
cheers

As others have said it was originally supposed
to be a 10-episode mini series only-as K-Street.
