These Actors can't act!

Is it formatted this way? Or are they just acting. Deep down can they really perform. Because, so far, I've seen nothing here that's any good...acting wise. Comments?

I would agree with you. The most noticeable are Krista, and the other chic..

did u see the 1/26 episode? when she goes back up to the audition place and screams at the wrong person...man, that was just bad, like not only the acting but the way it was 'scripted' *personally i dont believe in the 'unscripted' deal) its definitely scripted.

reply

I'm shocked! I'm enjoying the show so much, I've even watched a couple of episodes a few times over. I think all the actors are very watchable, unique, and brave--for playing themselves and laying their own name on the line! That can be a scary thing, but I think they dive in full force. I thought Krista's scene with the casting agent was riveting and probably her best moment in the series. Unscripted gives the middle finger to reality shows and I love it! I hope they bring it back for another season. Any chance?

reply

Well, whether they're Acting, Ad libbing, Improvisiing or whatever, they aren't pulling any of it off right. None of it is believable, and the end result is no connection between me and the characters. It's sad really.

agreed, i think there is an element of reality in terms of not being able to relate to them and them not being successful, a couple of these guys are really terrible, not only not talented, unable to connect with but straight up unlikeable

i desagree...i think these actors act real and are good at it....they are good at acting like young struggling actors, which I'm sure they have experienced!!

Just for a Note: Bryan Greenberg and Jen (forgot her last name) were in COnfessions of a Dangerous Mind...so was George Clooney...George is on the creative side of this show..I forget exactly what he does...so thats how a few of them could have gotten parts.

~But that's just me~

I'm with you. You could practically feel Bryan's embarassment and SEE him blushing when he was recounting his converstation with Krista prior to leaving for NY. Jen seems to be able to cry on a dime and Krista has a sweetness to her that really seems to come out in scenes with her son, Jake.

reply

The acting is pretty bad. Bryan is the only one who has somewhat decent chops.

Krista and the other chick really can't act. We know Krista was only cast because she was banging Clooney while the show was conceived, don't know how the other one nailed this down.

reply

Bryan Greenberg was not in Confessions of a dangerous mind...

reply

oops.....I didn't mean Bryan Greenberg and Jen, I meant Krista Allen and Jen!!

thanks for correcting me!

First of all, this show was never supposed to be a reality show. It's an improvasational show. Most of the actors are given scenarios, most of which are based on their real lives and then they shoot the scene using the actor's own dialogue. I don't really expect to see much "acting" since they are essentially playing themselves. If you don't find them believable as people, that's another issue.

I think it's a great show and I hope they do a second season.

Well, Frank Langella is practically a household name, and that Bryan Greenberg got cast in that Meryl Streep - Uma Thurman movie for real (I checked the IMDB page for that movie).
