Amazing Documentary

IMHO this film flat-out, no-debate, undeniably, unquestionably rules! That's it. That's all I gotta say...

Yes, I agree this was great! I loved watching the old fights on film! I loved learning more about Jack, it was also inspiring! I loved watching Jack bash Burns & Jefferies, at least Jack had the guts to fight Jefferies, but when the boot was on the other foot it was different.

The race stuff that went on back then was really bad, even newpaper writers were racist! I also loved the voice overs, I can see why it won awards.

I could'nt stop watching. I kept saying I needed to go to bed & watch the 2nd dvd later.but ended up watching the whole thing in 1 sitting. I'm about due to look at it again. I'd watch it more often but it's soooo long! I don't think this documentary left anything unanswered.made me feel like I was living in those times, gave me a real feel of how bad racism was in that era,& comparing it to how not much has changed today.

I just watched this last night and I was blown away! When it was over, I just sat on my bed for 2 minutes not saying anything. I was that much affected and overwhelmed.

Watched both parts yesterday. Congratulate Ken Burns on digging out footage I'd never seen before and didn't know even existed. Great film-one or two criticisms.
One-Johnson lost to Marvin hart early in 1905-Hart then beat Jack Root for the title, which he held for seven months, not two years.
Two-Johnson had two fights in France in 1913 before fighting Frank Moran in 1914.
Three-Jess Willard 33,not 27, when fought Johnson.

Only someone totally clueless when it comes to boxing could swallow the crap propagandist Ken Burns presented here.
