How does Alex still have a job?

I don't understand how Alex still has a job and wasn't fired on the spot? I get that htis is a TV show and all but in real life, any person with his sort of trouble would be fired right away. Doesn't matter if they are innocent until proven guilty. No employer would allow someone with his charge to keep their job.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it was because he wasn't formally charged yet?

But I would still think beating the *beep* out of a coworker would be grounds for termination anyway.

But even now that he has been charged he's just moved over to the clinic.

When did Alex punch a patient ??

reply

Alex punched a patient's father once. For yelling in panic at his tree-impaled son. Bailey was the one to pry him off that father.

He also delivered multiple punches to his brother Aaron once, because Aaron was upset about Alex not telling the family about his marriage and divorce. That brother was Bailey's pro-bono patient (he had a tumor) at the time.

Owen did the same thing when he WAS THE CHEF OF SURGERY. He broke some drunk guy's jaw for causing a scene in the ER. And nothing happened to him. And most recently clocked Riggs during an argument in the middle of the hall. Alex also beat up that Black intern after he screwed up during surgery on Alex's Dad. These Doctors have gotten away with so much stuff.

For someone who says they don't watch you sure seem to know an awful that is going on.

And why even bother spending time on the message boards? That would be like me goung over to the scandal or how to get away with murder boards and talking about this or that and the other thing.

I didn't tell you to go over to the other boards. I said that would be like me who used to watch those shows, but don't any longer going over there....

Wait, you don't watch anymore??? I can't believe you've never mentioned that!

Well its a TV show so real life rules don't always have to apply. Heck if they always followed real life TV shows would be so boring.

I am pretty sure he would have lost his medical license. I think Jo would have done too if her ex had pressed charges back when she beat him up, which is why Alex threatened him to keep him quiet for her.

Until (if) he is convicted, he still has a job. Bailey just doesn't want him to do surgeries or be around Delucca. She is having him work in the clinic. He could be suspended, but unless a Dr is convicted of a crime they can still practice medicine. Plus there have been medical techs and other medical professions that have been accused of breaking the law (medically like tampering with vials, needles, etc)that can still work.

How do half of these characters still have a job?
