Denny was Dzzie's (Alex's girlfriend & perhaps true love) patient. Izzie fell in love with Denny. Denny needed a heart transplant. To move Denny to the top of UNOS recipient list Izzie cut Denny's LVAD wire. Denny was able to get the heart. At the same time, the hospital staff was instructed to dress up and participate in a Hospital Prom being thrown for De Webber's niece. Izzie went home to dress returning to find out Denny died. Denny had called his legal rep instructing all of Denny's money go to Izzie (Izzie and Xenny were to be married and live happily ever after). After Denny's death Izzie could not figure out what to do with the money. Miranda wanting to do something different wanted to open a free clinic. Izzie decided to use the millions of dollars left to her by Denny to donate to the hospital to open the free clinic. The clinic was named after the man that financed the clinic (Denny).

Izzie went on to hallucinate Denny when she became sick with cancer.

Izzie survived cancer. However, she was fired from the hospital al by Webber (during the merger - Izzie was blamed for a medical mistake with a patient).

Izzie left Seattle, her husband Alex, and her friends.

The Denny Duqutte Class nic still stands as a reminder of Izzie and Denny.

Hope that this helps.

Thank you! Some of that actually sounds familiar now. It was Jeffery Dean Morgan right

Izzie and Denny was one of the, if not the most heart breaking storyline of the show. Also one of the best IMO. They did similar storylines with Teddy and Henry, and Stephanie and Kyle. Just watch this scene and you will understand me, Katherine Heigl's acting is off the charts here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sjGZbeHtVw

You really should go back and watch from the beginning. Not really sure how you're even into it with what we have now. Seasons 1-4 were very very good. It's on Netflix.

Agree 100%.

JCsSupertape,

Lifetime plays previous seasons of Greys Anatomy in order on a loop. You can set your dvr to record Greys Anatomy syndicated broadcasts on Lifetime. Soon, you will have all seasons. With the exception of the season Derrick dies - that season may be included in the current Lifetime syndication of Greys - I don't know.

If you have Amazon Prime you should be able to watch all seasons.

You can also view on several websites that stream television series, premium channel series, and movies.

I wish everyone optimal health - however, flu & cold season coincides with cold winter months (months many are traveling for holidays that coincide with cold winter months, flu season, cold season).

It's nice to have shows ready to binge watch both when traveling & recuperating from being under the weather.

JCsSupertape & everyone, wishes of an under the weather free winter season, cold & flu season, and holiday season!

Be well, Winker

They are back to the loop. The last "recent" episode they aired was Christina leaving and then the went back to the pilot again. Christina left at end of season 10. Derek died at the end of season 11. We are already in season 13. They should have at least jumped up to season 11.

SarahKSeraSera,

I'm not sure why seasons 11 & 12 (& any other seasons) are not part of Lifetime Grey's Anatomy syndication. I wish that they were! It would be nice to watch seasons 11 and 12 again.

It seems as though Meredith changed so much. She fought to stay in Seattle - instead of going to DC. Derrick's POTUS research position did not seem permanent. It also seems as though if the POTUS was assembling a medical research task force to cure neurological deadly diseases the government could have funded a state of the art research facility in Seattle.

Meredith's reasons for not wanting to move to the east coast seemed to be fear based. Cristina had moved on - Cristina was able to realize that she had outgrown the "Seattle Pond," and needed a larger "body of water" so that she (Cristina) could continue to expand, grow, reach her potential.

Meredith was afraid to leave home. She could have moved to the east coast, worked at a new hospital, and continued her growth. Derrick may have been able to work with a team that found a cure for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and other deadly diseases.

Meredith seemed so afraid of becoming her mother. Meredith staying in Seattle makes it look as though Meredith is becoming more like her mother. We never see Meredith with her children like we did when Derrick was alive. Meredith went into hiding to have Ellis.

Now, Meredith is too afraid to tell Maggie about Riggs. A relationship that will more than likely mirror Meredith's relationship with Derrick (with Riggs' fiance returning similar to Addison coming for Derrick).

It is unfortunate what happened to Meredith. She seems alone and sad. Even before Derrick's death, Meredith was filled with paralyzing fear - fear that prevented her from moving onward and upward building a fulfilling life with her husband, their equally important careers, and experiencing the joys of raising children with the person she loves.

Now Meredith seems to be robotic. She lives in her childhood home that is filled with traumatic memories (her mom cutting herself in front of a young Meredith as Ellis Grey wanted to get Richard back). Meredith in many ways seems to be perpetually stuck as the forgotten child of Ellis & Thatcher Grey - still alone in the hospital that she (Meredith) used to play by herself in the morgue, use old charts as coloring books, get clothes from the hospital lost and found because Momma Ellis was too focused on Richard & career to shop.

Cristina was great for Meredith. Would be nice for Meredith to get another Cristina-like friend.

It would also be interesting for Lifetime to add those seasons - watching would give insight into the evolution and failure to thrive of Meredith Grey.

SarahKSeraSera, You knowledge and understanding of characters is impressive. Your posts are highlight on IMDB boards, and, a terrific read. Have an extraordinary weekend! Be well,Winker

Based on all loops it seems like they stop 2 seasons before the current one

You should definitely go back and watch from the beginning. The show is even MUCH better in those seasons if you like the recent ones. The finale in the season with Denny was one of their best!

reply

you lost the best seasons if you don't know who Danny is. I suggest you watch them

reply

I might do just that

I disliked the whole Denny/ Izzie storyline. Disliked Izzie in general.
