This has bugged me for a while but now the boards are closing, I thought I'd ask. In the episode of Derek's death, they were stranded, no cell service, etc. Why didn't they all just load up in Derek's perfectly fine car and get the heck out of there? I know it's just a show, but this felt like a big plot hole to me. Am I just missing something?

The car crash never would have happened and Derek wouldn't have died.
Plot hole seems like such a huge buzz word for people that simply don't understand something about a show.

I think it was pretty low class of this show's writers to kill him off in a "CAR" crash knowing full well he was leaving the show to do a lot of racing. What a bunch of petty people who write for this show.

I am pretty sure that Derek knew that it wasn't safe to move the injured, and he was willing to wait for help.
shareI always wondered why he was the last to leave the scene of the accident? Certainly the cops would of been the last to leave the scene of an accident.
