What clued Eddie?

Towards the end when Venom and the Sandman were battling with Spiderman just before Harry shows up, I've always wondered how Eddie/Venom recognized Peter in his Spiderman suit because he calls him by name? When Eddie was in the church and heard noise in the Bell Tower, he looks up and recognizes Peter (even though he was awfully far away) trying to rid himself of Venom using the bell noise, however, Peter was wearing the Venom suit not the Spiderman suit - so??

Thought of another possibility to my question. Maybe Venom retained Peter's information and once on Eddie then Eddie knew?

Correct. Because “The” venom essentially bonded to Peter for a while, after Peter got rid of it the Symbiote retained not only Peter’s memories but also his abilities (in more enhanced ways). And so the Symbiote’s next host, Eddie, basically had all of this information.
