i want something similar to SimCity in the world building vein, but i want it set in old times; medieval or rome something like that. But i dont want one battle strategy heavy. Can anyone suggest some good titles?

The Anno series is very good, beautiful polished graphics and good pace.

You could also try the old Impressions games: Caesar 3, Pharaoh/Cleopatra and Zeus. Lots of micromanaging, but boy are they addicting.

And yes... I know your post is 5 years old.
