Was Charming Artie's father?

When I first saw him show his face and hair and he'd said his father left, my first thought was Charming is his father. But it was never addressed later. So was he supposed to be and it's something I'm only supposed to know by looking at him or is it just a coincidence?

reply

i thought the exact same thing!

when he started talking about his dad and everything, i was like, "wow it's too bad that's really obvious. i'm kind of bummed i figured that out right now instead of being pleasantly shocked when it's revealed later..."

and then... it never was revealed.

theres a disturbing thought.
Charming wanted to kill his son OR younger brother.
now, that's what I call a dysfunctional family.

I thought that as well when I first heard Artie tell that his father left, but if Charming would have been Artie's father, then Charming would have been the heir to the throne and not Artie...

The only way these 2 are related is by some illegitimate pregnancy of Artie. They're not brothers because as mentioned, Charming likely isn't related to Fiona.

It's prince charming, he was made out like he could woo any woman he wanted to so an illegitimate pregnancy isn't out of the question.

Actually i think Fiona's mother looks like Prince Charming. :)

Keep in mind that in this time period blue bloods tended to only be with other blue bloods and there were only so many.

Charming cannot be Artie's dad- he is a snobby, selfish self deluded mama's boy but I doubt he kill his own kid

they just both happen to be blonde, but Artie's the good guy blondie and better choice as king

Hey,

Animating hair with CGI is tough, it's not really surprising when two characters animated by the same production staff wind up with similar hair. It saves them a lot of time and money by re-using the same programming with little tweaks.

There's a lot more binary code than DNA in this "relationship".

They say "Emily" in Toy Story 2 was really just "Andy" feminised.

Doesn't make them relatives or Andy a crossdresser either!

Royal bastards are usually made by a royal male. If it was a royal woman then they could be easily passed off as legitimate children.
Prince Charming is not an actual prince. He is the son of a fairy and tried to be king by marriage. Him procreating with the queen seems unlikely because he looks about Fiona's age so he would be quite young at the time of Arthur's conception. Probably not even in puberty.
Therefore I think the king made quite a slip on his happy ever after on one of his travels and tried to cover it up....until the day he croaked...ehm passed away.

Perhaps Charming was a distant relative though. Royal families were quite hillbilly when it came to bloodlines and marriage.

reply

Look at the royal families of Europe. They practically all have the same ancestry with all the marriages there has happened between the royal families the last 700 years or something.
So Charming and Artie being related, such as distant cousins, is a possibility.

I actually think it's more likely that Artie is related to the Queen than the King.

After all the King was a frog, so I doubt he inherited his kingdom, but the Queen totally could have. If that's the case, then it wouldn't be strange for Artie to be her nephew or something along those lines.
