UK Cinema Release Confirmed!!!!

PURITAN will be relased in cinemas across the UK in September-October 2006. Publicity and Press screenings will commence a month after Cannes. The production team is hard at work on organising the cinema release. The film has been re-graded and looks stunning. At the moment a teaser tailer and a full length trailer are being edited and the teaser will soon be on the production companies website to download. Also the the poster is with a design company and this will aso be available on the companies website. A large London based PR company will be handling the campaign. All looks good for PURITAN. Any questions regarding the film and I'll be happy to answer them.

The director, David Soul and Nick Moran will be introducing the film. They will also be signing posters of Puritan and anything else the audience wants them to sign!

Have seen this film and it's a stinker... it's one of those films where you sit through it, don't care what happens to any of the characters and can barely remember anything about it 10 minutes after you've seen it. Dull, dull, dull... if you must see it, wait til it's on TV. Shame, cause the first 5 minutes make it seem like it could be quite interesting.

OMG... an estimated £2000000 budget, oh dear!

reply

Totally disagree Rory, you must have seen it yesterday at Frightfest where I saw it too. I thought it was absolutely amazing, beautiful visuals, great performances and it kept me watching throughout. The audience yesterday loved it.

And with regards to the 'estimated' budget, thats all it is, 'estimated' it does not necassarily mean that was the budget, is has been 'estimated and not verified, but they could be completely wrong. Either way I wasnt thinking about the budget when I watched it.

I hope it does well when it comes out. I recommend it highly, its the kind of film that has to be seen on the cinema screen. 5 stars all round!

Agree with pixxxy on this one. A very entertaining little thriller film which I have been fortunate enough to have seen twice, the 2nd time being at yesterday's Frightfest. Looked great, nicely handled story, a film noir with a supernatural twist. The audience at Frightfest seemed to me to be very positive and I think this film is deserving of all the praise it gets. The best of luck to the director, who is distributing it himself to ensure a proper run in the cinemas. It is great to see stuff like this coming out of the independant British film indutry.

Spot on TAW. This is just the kind of film that should and needs to be coming out of the british film industry.

It looked amazing, and the performances of moran, rylance and especially soul were terrific. I think this is going to turn into a real cult film. I loved it and so did my boyfriend. Well done all concerned.

This is an undiscovered gem. I also saw it at the good old Frightfest festival with all my pals, and we loved it. Its a smart film with an old fashioned way about it, very good story and I loved Georgina Rylance, she was excellent and sooo gorgeous.

Great film, go seek it out my fellow film geeks.

At last, 10th of November!
Go and see it, it's a gem. But don't wait too long, it's not backed by any studios so it could be out of the cinemas very quickly. Theater owners are business men, they're not into cinema most of the time.

I really wanna see this film, but where? how? do I find out where it's showing. I have of course tried my local multiplexes (sp). Any helerp much appreciated.

I saw it at the Appolo, round the corner from Piccadilly Circus. I know it is in Mile End, and that the Prince Charles will take it from next week - great place for Cult Movies btw...

I did not catch this at the cinema. Are there any plans to release this on DVD?

I just bought my copy at HMV the other day. I remember waking into the cinema and not expecting much out of it, but I was really pleasantly surprised, it looked amazing, had the most gorgeous cinematography and the plot moved at a smooth and smart pace.

The DVD has got loads of extras, and the film holds up on the visuals. Liked the gag reel, and the deleted scenes are very interesting because it seems there was a bit more supernatural elements which didn't make it to the final cut.

Anyway, excellent british film.
