I could have sworn that part of the Noah story was that God promised never again to send a flood to destroy the earth. No? What's up with that?

Earth was not destroyed, it was just some kilometres from the mountains up to the Congress. A small dam broke and a tiny cute flood came down. ^^

God didn't send the flood. Congressman Long cutting corners and violating building codes building the dam is what caused the flood.
