Connections to Woody Allen's 'Manhattan' (1979)?

No one seems to mentioning the fact that the title is a riff on Woody Allen's classic film from 1979. Other than that, I can't spot many connections. Are there any? I kind of thought Allen would make a cameo in this film or something, but he was nowhere to be found. I wonder if he is even aware of this film's existence.
