is this movie as laughable to everyone else as it is to me?

this is one of the worst movies i have ever seen. i gave it a vote of 2, only because it is so bad, it's funny. lines like "....KILL HIM!" are totally out of place and acted badly. i'm gonna show this to the rest of my family at christmas. the world needs a good laugh.

Ya know, I think everyone's being pretty hard on this movie. It is what it is. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I'd look forward to wahtever miniseries was on to watch with my mom. Sure, most of the time they were cheesy, but they were decent enough for families to watch together. Another thing to think about with this movie is how much the cheap score and cheap effects work agaisnt it. I bet if you released the Mummy on this budget, people would be laughing it off as well. not to say that The Mummy is the paradigm of great cinema, but it's a fun, popular, popcorn flick. I think with a little money thrown at this flick, it could have been close to that feel. Yes, I agree it's poorly written, but there were some fun spots, especially the SHerlock Holmes aspect of his deducing. I thought I'd tire of it, but those things always interest me for some reason.

Yeah, my family had fun watching it.

It's a comedy, being laughable is the whole point

I kinda think the movie achieved exactly what it was trying to do in your case. Did it really fail if it made you laugh? Now go back and give it the 5 or 6 it deserves.

I took it to be intentionally campy and bad. I thought it was great!

Please, lighten up already! This movie is obviously made to be a spoof/take-off/homage to movies like Indiana Jones, National Treasure etc. It's not meant to be taken seriously, yet it does not stoop to bad language, gore, or vulgar scenes the way so many spoof movies do. I really liked the warm lightheartedness of it and especially appreciated a movie I could watch with my 10-year-old daughter without having to cover her eyes or ears. Delightful movie!
